Hi! Emma Lawlor here. I’m a 2011 graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where I majored in History with minors in Latin American Studies and Health Policy. As you can tell by a few minutes exploring my blog, I’m fascinated by all things Latin America – in particular, how agriculture and development have been related in the region over time. Hopefully, whatever I end up doing in the long-run will always allow me to feed my endless curiosity concerning such issues.
When I’m not working, reading, or writing, I like to be anywhere outside. As someone who prefers to take in life at a slow but steady pace, I think backpacking, sea kayaking, and running will always be my favorite outdoor activities. But don’t think I can’t also enjoy life in the fast lane! I recently inherited a whitewater kayak, and since finally getting a semblance of a roll, I’ve been completely hooked. Let me know if you want to paddle!
